For this age group we have 2 rooms, Chatty Parrots and Happy Hippos which are large, bright and airy open spaces.

The children at this age love exploring in the home corner to role play life experiences such as pretending to cook tea for their friends which encourages social skills and communication skills. Both communication and social skills are important at this age as the children are becoming more vocal and building on their language skills as they interact with their friends.

 

The children usually begin toilet training at this age and the staff offer a potty-training bag for the children to borrow to help the parents and their child transition from nappies to toilet. The potty-training bag includes a reward chart, baby doll, potty and books about potty training to help prepare them.

 

The children have access to the garden and wild garden to explore throughout the day.
